Pricing

The engine is open source. Plans add support.

The part that locks your lab is open source. Paid plans add the dashboard, platform packs, and people who have run a few hundred exam seats before. Pricing is by the machines in your lab, not by students or exams.

Talk to us

We are working out prices with our first institutions now, so the paid plans are quoted per lab. Share how many seats you have and we will come back with a number within a few days.

Not per student, not per exam

Charging per exam gives instructors a reason to run fewer exams than their course actually needs. Here, you pay for the machines and run as many exams as the course requires.

The core stays open

The engine is open source under AGPLv3. Your admins can read exactly what it does to each machine, and you are not dependent on us continuing to operate it.

Your logs stay yours

Evidence stays on infrastructure you control. Paying for the service does not mean sending us your students’ data.

Buying questions

What to know before involving procurement.

Is it open source?

The engine that locks and restores machines is open source under AGPLv3, stewarded by Justuju. The dashboard and some operator tools are paid.

Can we try it before committing?

Yes. A pilot covers one lab for a term. We help you set up, sit in on your first exam remotely, and go through the logs with you afterwards.

How is it priced?

The open-source engine is free. Paid plans are priced by the seats in your lab, not by students or exams, so running more exams does not cost more.

Do you support remote exams?

No. SafeExamOS needs lab machines your institution controls. For exams taken at home, see how remote proctoring compares.
